My name Is Paul D. Smith Jr., owner of Rack and Spur Taxidermy. Taxidermy first started out as a hobby, then became an infatuation. My wife, Kristen, pushed me to open my own shop and in 1995, I started to offer my services on a professional level to the public. Our emphasis is on quality not quantity. I have over 16 years experience doing taxidermy on many different animals; as large as lifesize elk, birds and fish. A full tan is preformed on all mammals. This is all done in shop to control time factors and the possibility of lost or damaged skins.You can rest assured that your trophy is in good hands, and that no short cuts will be taken. I'm an active member in the Alabama Taxidermists assoc. attending various workshops to continually become more efficient and stay up to date with the newest techniques available.
